The Days We Lived

Fifty four young adults. Six days. From the oldest port on earth to the Temple Mount.

How to read this

Walking into the Pages

why we read every verse standing on the ground it happened on

We did not visit places and mention verses. We opened the Book and walked into its pages. At every site we read the passage while standing on the ground it happened on, because the Bible was not written in a library. It was written on a port, a cliff, a lake, a river, a desert, a city of stone.

When you stand in the place and hear the words, the page gains a third dimension. The Bible becomes 3D. The Bible becomes alive. And it does not stay behind at the airport. Forever now, when you open the Book, Jaffa will have a harbor smell, the Galilee will have wind on it, and Jerusalem will be gold stone under your own feet.

“Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way,
and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
LUKE 24:32

The teachings we carried

Three Things That Outlive the Trip

The NIPs. The world runs on VIPs. God runs on Not Important People. Ruth the foreigner, David the forgotten son, Peter the fisherman, Matthew the taxman. In the only book that matters, the NIPs are the main characters.

Prayer is the opposite of worry. To pray is to meditate on what you want. To worry is to meditate on what you don't. Since none of us knows what is coming, there is no vacuum and no doing nothing. You either worry or you pray. Let your will be done.

You are not tourists, you are pilgrims. And pilgrimage began while Jesus was still walking this land. Three times a year, on foot, uphill.

Join the Wall of Watchmen

pray for the Land, from wherever you are

This journey does not have to end at the airport. There is a community of people around the world who pray for this Land every week, and who receive the letters I write from the Golan. You belong in it now. Come and stand on the wall with us.
